Thunder Force Heaven (Prototype ver 3)

While traveling, my wife bought me a retro gaming magazine for the flight. The magazine was pretty good, featuring a bunch of old games created by small developer teams.

Reading it felt like diving into a Tony Robbins book, but specifically dedicated to retro game development. Without realizing it at the time, it gave me a huge boost of motivation!

I just released a major update for the game. Originally, the prototype of my game had 3 levels. And now, it has... Still 3 levels!

So why am I calling this a major update?

Because, I must admit, versions 1 and 2 (and 2.1) of my prototype were actually just a series of Game Design elements without any continuity between them. My game was severely lacking in Level Design, and each level only had one or two enemies. Yet, what makes a 2D SideScroller like Thunder Force so compelling is the richness of its universe, revealed through the various environments you explore and the monsters you face. And as for enemies, I went all out. Each level now features at least 4 different enemies (not counting the boss), and I’ve also improved their movement patterns to make them more realistic!

In short, I hope you’ll enjoy this version 3 as much as I’ve enjoyed playing it myself :)

P.S.: I also took the opportunity to translate the texts into English and fix a good number of bugs.
